BEAUTIFUL CREATURES: New Song Posted Online
December 28, 2004An audio sample of a new BEAUTIFUL CREATURES song, entitled "Superfly", has been posted online at BeautifulCreatures.net (mp3, 3.74 MB).
"Superfly" comes off the group's recently completed sophomore album, "Deuce", tentatively due next year.
Toby Wright, who has worked with KORN, KISS, 3 DOORS DOWN and ALICE IN CHAINS among others, mixed the U.S. version of "Deuce", a CD two years in the making.
"It's a little heavier than our debut CD and different at times, too," BEAUTIFUL CREATURES bassist Kenny Kweens recently told South Mississippi's SunHerald.com, "but it still has the same spirit, it still sounds like BEAUTIFUL CREATURES — two years, three producers and four studios later."
Warner Bros. Records signed the band in 2001, and they promptly earned a spot opening for KISS, did an HBO "Reverb" concert, played Ozzfest and spent a year on the Rolling Rock Tour before heading to Japan, which is where "Deuce" will be released first, on the JVC label.
"We expect to release in the U.S. early in 2005," Kweens said, "and we're also putting together a home DVD called 'Sometimes Pretty Ain't Pretty At All'," the title lifted from a lyric on the band's eponymous debut album.
"It'll show us in the studio, sound checks, interviews — a behind-the-scenes look at the band. And the title is appropriate. Trust me."
